Webinar: Women, Peace and Security – what is the experience on the ground?

Join the webinar now!

The webinar will look into the progress in implementing the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 through National Action Plans, using the case studies of the DRC, Nigeria and Cameroon.

Some activists and policymakers see National Action Plans as useful tools for the localization of the Women, Peace and Security agenda at the national and community levels, while for others the plans are only “fairy-tale compliance.”

After the discussion on opportunities and risks National Action Plans may create, WILPF grassroots activists will share their first-hand experiences from the DRC and Nigeria, where the plans have already been adopted, and Cameroon where the plan is in preparation.

SPEAKERS:

Prof. Aisling Swaine, WILPF Academic Network

Dr. Abigail Ruane, WILPF Women, Peace and Security Programme

Joy Ada Onyesoh (Nigeria), Sylvie Jacqueline Ndongmo (Cameroon), and Annie Matundu Mbambi (DRC)

The webinar is hosted by WILPF Academic Network.
